Your Privacy Is Important to us
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Information Collection, Use, and Sharing
When you provide us with personal and commercial information with respect to a contemplated transaction, you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no. If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by contacting us with the contact form. By providing us with information and documents presenting a Project, you expressly consent to their disclosure on the Website where they will be freely accessible by all Registered Users.
When you invest in a project, the Issuer will know your account name, and the amount you have committed. Issuers never receive Investors’ credit card details or other payment information, which are exclusively processed by payment gateways. If a Project you have invested in is successfully funded, the Issuer will receive the email address associated with your account, and may contact you on a regular basis to provide you with updates concerning the Project. We are also authorized to disclose your data if we are required by law to do so, e.g. transmission to law enforcement agencies and supervisory authorities for the purpose of averting dangers to national security, public safety or for crime prosecution.
The Information We Have about You
If you deal with ClubDeal in your individual capacity (e.g. as a private client), or as an owner or principal of a company or other investment vehicle established to invest on your behalf or on behalf of your family, etc., the typical information we collect about you may include (in addition to any other information as may be determined on a case-by-case basis):
- Your full name, phone number, email address, organization, birth-date, IP addresses, and other contact details;
- Extensive information, including source of wealth, investment experience and objectives, risk tolerance and, in certain jurisdictions, representations required under applicable law or regulation concerning your financial resources;
Of course, you are not required to supply any of the personal information that we may request. However, failure to do so may result in our being unable to open or maintain your account or to provide services to you. While we make every effort to ensure that all information we hold about our clients is accurate, complete and up to date, we rely on our clients promptly notifying us if there are any changes to their personal information.
Third party services
In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the Services they provide to us. However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us, and have their own privacy policies. We recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers. To the extent necessary for the processing of the transactions entered into through the Website, you agree that personal information may be communicated to third parties outside Switzerland.
To protect your personal information both online and offline, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment. If you choose a third-party payment gateway to complete your investment, then a third party payment gateway processes your banking data, which is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.
